NEON works with CEER to implement the 2020 Vision

NEON is a strong supporter of the 2020 Vision for Europe’s energy customers developed by CEER and BEUC.

This vision relies on the RASP principles (Reliability, Affordability, Simplicity and Protection and Empowerment) to empower energy consumers throughout Europe.

On 6 November 2014, CEER published its Report on the Implementation of the 2020 Vision for Europe’s Energy Customers by its Supporters.

NEON welcomes the report as a necessary step towards building an energy market which put customers at its centre. CEER considers the 2020 Vision as the cornerstone of a well-functioning market. This work complements CEER’s numerous reports and events which are also part of the implementation of the 2020 Vision.

The RASP principles (Reliability, Affordability, Simplicity and Protection and Empowerment) are confirmed as the cornerstone of a well-functioning market and will continue to be the basis of the work that national regulatory authorities do through CEER.

NEON was delighted to present CEER the progress and achievements  of its Members within the framework of the 2020 Vision during a Supporter’s conference held on 21 October 2014. Mr Eric Houtman, the Belgian Energy Ombudsman (Dutch Speaking) presented NEON’s view on the “reliability” principle.
